Hi Sally, Just wanted to let you know that I'm looking forward and waiting with great anticipation to a new book. I came across your name on a book list list and started reading your books and I didn't stop until I had them all read. Each book touches me in a different way. I always feel like I'm part of your story. I have also gotten several of my family members interested in your books also, and they felt great after reading them too. Thank you so much for being such a special person to me. Sincerely, Kelli Ragle

So sorry to hear of your terrible loss. So grateful that no-one was hurt. I too lost 2 homes back in 1978 due to fire. we were asleep when the fire broke out. It happened around 3 am on March 31st. This was my oldest sister's birthday. We lost everything but with help from family and very close friends and our Church and our faith we went on. It will take some time and many many prayers to heal from this terrible ordeal but you will. Looking forward to your next book with great anticipation. Your friend and a great fan, Kelli Ragle

Dear SAlly, I finished "In a Heartbeat" and enjoyed it thoroughly. You are a newly-discovered author to me, and I am excited about getting the other books you've written. I "shop" at a public library here in town and am amazed and thrilled at the large number of Christian fiction they carry. I had read a few during the years, but i the last 6 months or s0, I've really been on a "tear" reading one C.F. after another. I feel like you and other writers have caused me to draw closer to the Lord. Keep writing, Sally, and congratulations on becoming the author you are. I'm a retired English teacher and I just in awe at those who write effectively. In Jesus Name, Marilyn

Thank you all for your compliments on the new website look. I want to thank my young creative friend KRISTEN BALSIS from Colorado Springs who designed the layout. All those lovely colors and that dogwood are hers as well. \O/ Thanks to NICOLE SMITH in Illinois for tweaking the technical side of things and getting us up and running and adding Aslan. \O/ Thanks to NOEL GUILIANOTTI for letting us use his Aslan/Jesus design. \O/ And thanks to my husband Tim and daughter Elizabeth for adding touches and sticking with the project.

It has been a blessing to read the two books in this series. My daughter is currently unwed and expecting and your reading your book encouraged me to continue just loving her until she decides to give her life back to the Lord. PLEASE CONTINUE THE SERIES! I love the Julian character and would like to see more about him.

More Beach House please! Just finished the two books in the beach house series. As a voracious reader of contemporary Christian fiction, I've enjoyed this series more than anything else I've read recently. Would love to read more about Jo and Andie's new lives. Thank you for blessing us with your writing talent.

I was just wondering Sally... I am reading your book "Castles in the Sand" and I am wondering if you had a testimony? What denomination are you? I like to read about the authors I read about and where they have come from with their walk with the Lord. There isn't much wrote about your personal walk. So if you could just share with us a little more about you and your testimony. Thank you! ~Crystal

Hi! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your books that I have read. I live in Greenville, SC and have found it hard to find your books at our local Christian bookstores. I recently finished "Flashpoint" - it took me searching high and low to finally find it - and am now looking for "Moment of Truth". Any ideas about where in my area I could purchase it, or is there a way to purchase it online? I love your wesbite!

Hi Tammi, I also live in Greenville, SC. I purchased the In a Heartbeat series in Ohio at a little Christian Book Store in Amish County while visiting. When I got home I had finished the series and wanted more so I went searching. I couldn't find one on the shelf, but Family Christian Stores on Woodruff Road ordered them for me and had them ready in a weeks time. Maybe if more people ask for them, they will start carrying her! Sally, Your books have truly been a blessing for me! Keep writing! Your words are making a difference for Him around the world! Imagine the legacy you are leaving your Grandchildren! Shannon, Mom of 1, avid reader of Christian Fiction, and a follower of Christ.

Dear Reader Friends: I just wanted to let you all know that my husband Tim and I here in San Diego lost our house last week. Fire tore up our street about 4:45 a.m. Monday morning, October 22. Thanks be to God, every neighbor escaped harm. An aerial photo of our devastated block was on the front page of the October 24 LA Times and, I believe, the following Sunday’s Oregonian (Portland). I know how you all are – when you read this you’ll pray for us. I thank you for that. Our immediate needs are being abundantly met through family, friends, strangers, and the insurance company. I had planned to post a note regarding the new book due for release soon. (Yes, finally!) The oddest thing is that a major event in the story is a San Diego wildfire. A year after writing the story, I experienced the real thing. Go figure. Here’s the scoop: A TIME TO MEND, Safe Harbors Series #1, will be available January 1, 2008. Thank you for your love and support and your incredibly encouraging notes telling me that my stories speak to you. That means more to me than ever. Blessings to you all. Sally

Words cannot even begin to describe the wave of emotion that engulfed me as I read this book! To God Be The Glory! As Indio stated "Hallelujah"! This book touched every unwanted corner in my life that needed to be dealt with. I read this book in one sitting! Just got the book from the library yesterday afternoon and finished it before bed lastnight! OH so captivating! I have read all your books except 2; The Beach House and A Time to Gather. Keep letting the Lord use you to help others! Thank you so very much for your inspiration Mrs. John.

Sally and Tim, This book really hit home for me. I know that God put it in my path at just this time in my life. This book really made me take note of my relationships. My relationship with my husband and kids, but more importantly my relationship with God. I can't hardly wait for the next one in the series to be published. I have read all but one of your books and can relate to most of them. Keep up the good work.

I've read both of the books in the Beach House Series and loved them. Castles in the Sand was my favourite. When might there be another. I love that house and would like to see more lives transformed by the love of God that dwells within it. Meanwhile I'll check out your other books, I'm sure they will be just as inspiring.

Hi Sally - I want to thank you and Gary for writing this book. It is absolutely amazing. I'm not quite through with it, but the thought of it ending has led me to want another one of you books waiting close by... which is why I immediately got online to do a little research :) This is my first time reading one of your books - I've been having a hard time completing a book over the last 5 1/2 years (after having my first son) but this book has me reading at every free moment and coming close to the end within only 1 week! That's exciting for me. I chose this book too because I've been having some "feelings" within my marriage and I needed to read something inspiring and Christian based in relation to my union. It is helping - please pray for me and I have definitely added you and your family to my prayer list. I'm just towards the end of the fire in the book and as I was reading it I was thinking that one of you must have had a personal/similar fire experience -- only to come online at this very moment to read about your loss this past October. I will pray for your continued recovery. Thanks again. In Peace, Kendra (your new book series follower)

Is Beach Dreams by Trish Perry part of the The Beach House Series as advertised? Is this a part of the sequil or a stand alone about the same "beach house"? Also, we are reading The Beach House in our bookclub this summer, is there a Discussion Guide available. Thanks for being a wonderful writer!
Sally
7/1/2009 10:44:14 AM
Hi Robin - Yes, Beach Dreams is part of the Beach House series, a stand-alone set at the same house; Julian and Zeke are in it too; other characters will be different. This new story is Trish Perry's; Mindy Clark is also doing one in the future. It was such a fun setting, we wanted to go back to it!
Sally
7/1/2009 10:45:18 AM
There are discussion questions at the end of each Beach House book. Hope that helps. I'd be glad to answer any questions about the story. Email them to sallyjohnbook@aol.com.

Hi all! Thank you for the most encouraging notes. You're a blessing to me. Tim and I are preparing to move into a more permanent home, six months now after the fire. God has abundantly provided for all of our needs - and then some. Book 2 in the Safe Harbor Series is finished. \O/ Watch for A TIME TO GATHER late this summer. I'm very excited about it. You'll get to see how Claire and Max are doing as well as meet a couple of new characters and watch Erik and Lexi grow through some trials. =) Book 3 is in the works. If you'd like a personal reply, please contact me at sallyjohnbook@aol.com. Blessings.

Like some of the other comments I have read on this space, you are a new author to me. I found In a Heartbeat and Flash Point in my church libary. I love your writing style so much I am now on a search for everything else you have written. I totally love to read series of books. I am an avid reader, and if it were not for the pesky things like jobs and housework to do, I would read practically non-stop. One good thing about an upcoming surgery I have coming up is that I will read about 8 books every two weed. I LOVE to read. Books like yours are what I call a "fast read", as they are so engrossing, that you do not want to put them down, and the next thing you know. the book is done! So keep writing and I and many of your other fans will continue to devour them. Thanks.

Thank you Sally John for a wonderful Scripture-filled and fun to read book. I loved it. You show how many of us respond to sin in our lives and in other's lives ... and it's not always right the first time!!! Sometimes it is (and thank YOU God!!)This book is challenging and very thought provoking -- while entertaining. I loved the beach atmosphere. I didn't want the book to end!!! Too good.

I remember book covers better than book titles. I've been known to buy a book I've already read because the cover is different! You avid fiction readers know what I'm talking about. :) Just a head's up here... THE OTHER WAY HOME SERIES(those four stories set in Valley Oaks, Illinois, with Gina, Brady, and company) was just re-released with fun new covers, same titles, same stories. New Book news...A TIME TO GATHER can be viewed at Amazon.com; release date is October. It's coming soon! Blessings.

When I first saw this book at the store, I read the description what the book was about and got excited that the story developes in San Diego where I lived for 19 years. Reading the book brought back wonderful memories of all the places in your books I had visited many times. The book is very inspirational and helped to remind me to trust in God and have faith that he loves us and wants the best for us. I gave the book to my best friend's mom who finished and has asked me to find her more of your books. I am very excited that we have found a great new author and are looking forward to read more of your books. Are there any more books written in San Diego? Thank you for a great book.

Oh my goodness!! I got the whole "Other Way Home" 4 book set as an early Christmas present from my hubby who knows I love Christian books and series. These books are amazing! I spent 3 whole days reading and finished the first 3 books. I'm starting on the 4th book tonight and I can't wait to see what happens!! When I finish I will definitely be running to the store to buy more of these books!! My mom and I read all the Karen Kingsbury books together and are now sharing these with each other. Its such a great tool for she and I to bond and grow closer together! Thanks and God bless!!

Hi Sally, I am currently reading The Beach House, and I'm really enjoying it. I am only 27, so honestly I wasn't sure if I'd be able to relate to these ladies and the things they deal with. But that hasn't been a problem so far. I love reading about the things they are dealing with and reading the interactions between them. I also have loved reading how they change and grow while they're at the beach, especially Andi. My favorite character is Char. I'm only halfway through the book, so I'm sure there's alot more coming my way. I just had one question...do Char, Molly, Andi, and Joe make an appearance in the other books in this series? Oh, and I also read the first couple chapters of A Time To Mend...I can tell I'm going to LOVE that book. :) Thanks!
Sally
7/1/2009 10:52:36 AM
Hi Kelly! I'm so pleased that you are enjoying The Beach House. That was particularly fun for me to write as it takes place on Mission Beach where Tim (my husband)and I have spent considerable time. There is a yellow beach house there that was my model for the story. This is the only story that those characters you asked about are in. But Julian is in the next book of the series, Castles in the Sand. Thank you for reading my books! Sally

Sally, as you know, I have ALL of your books and have enjoyed them so much. I've read and re-read them. I highly recommend anyone to "search" for your first books also. The Lord has truly blessed you with your writing talent and thank you for giving Him the Glory. Many Blessings.

Sally, I have always loved romance novels. Being a Christian it felt wrong to continue reading them. I picked your book up not knowing that you were a Christian author. Along about chapter 2 of the first in the series In a Heartbeat, I was hooked. I am finishing up the last book and I feel that i am sitting right there watching the book unfold. I will not rest until I have read ever book that you have out. Thanks again for letting me continue my love affair with romance novels in a Christina like way. I truly hope that there are more. Love how the second character in the last book becomes the main character in the next book. Thanks again Jennifer Stearns

Hi Sally, I have just finished the Castles in the Sand a few minutes ago and had to find out more about you. I have read a Time to Mend, A Time to Gather, The Beach House, and as I said just finished Castles in the Sand. Your books really speak to me and I love how you weave the Gospel and the power of it and God's love in our lives. I love how you show healing when people truly experience forgiveness the way God gives it. It encourages me to forgive and offer that advice to those around me. God's love truly does change our lives and it is so refreshing to read about it. I just bought a Time to Surrender and can't wait to start it. I am looking forward to another Beach house series book too. Thanks for letting God use you to bring about change in the lives of others.

I came across your Safe Harbor collection while I was waiting for Karen Kingsbury to come out with another book and I fell in love with the series. Sally, I have never been much of a reader, but I just read 'Castles in the Sand' (my mother-in-law had the book) and I could not put it down once I started reading it. I am now looking forward to purchasing more of your book. Thanks for a great book.

Hey, Gina Delgado ~ Thank you for your note. I seem to keep going back to San Diego settings. :) It's my favorite place on earth! The books set there are: A TIME TO MEND, A TIME TO GATHER, A TIME TO SURRENDER, THE BEACH HOUSE, CASTLES IN THE SAND. My first 3 books, now out of print but available online through used book outlets, are set there as well: IN THE SHADOW OF LOVE, SURRENDER OF THE HEART, & TO DREAM AGAIN. (Also Trish Perry's titles in The Beach House Series--SUNSET BEACH & BEACH DREAMS). (Interesting tidbit - I have characters named "Gina" in A JOURNEY BY CHANCE and "Rosie Delgado" in A TIME TO SURRENDER. :)

I just wanted to let you know that you are easily the best fiction writer I have ever read. Your stories are simple yet detailed, they caught my attention from the beginning. I honestly found myself feeling that I was actually in the beach house with everyone in "Castles in the Sand". Thanks for your talent, and keep writing more, please!!

Hi, Rebekah ~ Thank you for your note - Thank you for already picking up a copy of the newest release! :) There are just the 3 titles in the Safe Harbor series with Gary Smalley: #1 A TIME TO MEND; #2 A TIME TO GATHER; #3 A TIME TO SURRENDER. It's probably more enjoyable to read them in order, but the main storylines in each are different so it's not necessary to go in order. I'm glad they're all available now especially for readers like me who crave things in ORDER. :)

Hi, Lisa ~ Did you make my day or what? :) Thank you for telling me how much you like my stories. At the moment I'm in between projects - which is why I'm here at the website that I don't get to often enough most of the time. I just turned in Book 1 of a new series and will keep you all posted on it's progress. At the moment I think it's release date is spring 2010. I know, I know - a long, long time from now! Ack! :) So much work goes into a book by so many people. I appreciate my editors and publishers who want to produce the best possible book, story-wise and design-wise.

Hi Sally! I just got done reading A Journey By Chance! It was really really really good!!!!! You are a great author. I was just wondering if Brady and Gina's "song" was a actual song and if so.... what's the name of it? Thanks! and keep up the good work. I can't wait to start the next book!!!

Hi Missy! Thank you!! :) Wow, I haven't thought of Gina and Brady's song for years. I made up the words. I based it on an oldie from 1969 by Michel Legrand called "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" He composed several songs for movies that are familiar. I would have quoted this one directly but that would have involved getting copyright permission, and I didn't have time to do that. If you know the tune, my words might fit. Well, maybe if you use your imagination a whole lot...

I recently purchased The Beach House andCastles in the Sand, and now I see there is Beach Dreams and Sunset Beach by Trish Perry, are they part of your series, if so I'll order them. Real confused right now, The Beach HOuse is very good. I'm always trying to find new authors and I think I have found a good one.

Do you really mean it? No more heart-changing stories about the Beaumont family?

Vicky - and other readers wondering about THE BEACH HOUSE SERIES... Trish Perry is the author of SUNSET BEACH and BEACH DREAMS. It was a pleasure to be her "consultant" for her work and then to read her stories that seamlessly incorporate the beach, the house, Juian, and Zeke. =)

Like many others, your books bless my life and help me grow in another way in which I am blessed. I do hope you will be inspired to write another Beaumont book.

I have spent a lot of my summer reading your first three series. I started in Feb. but don't read much when school is in. I'm a latecomer to the series, but have enjoyed them all, especially Beach House series. God really used them to speak to me about several past issues. Looking forward to the next series!

Wow!! I love your books. I grew up in Lakeside, California and received your "Beach House" book as a gift from my Secret Sister at church. I love the ocean and I really enjoyed your Beach House series. I live in Idaho now, so reading the Beach House series brought many memories back as I love the ocean and the boardwalk. I have almost read all your series now, just finishing the last book of the "Heartbeat" series. I don't want it to end!! I love all your books and they have helped me heal in many ways, you just don't have any idea. Can't wait until your next series!!!

Thank you for using your gift of writing to uplift and educate. I am halfway through A Time to Mend, my first taste of your work, and am compelled to subsequently gobble up all of your books with gusto! Your ministry is greatly appreciated. (Also b. 1951)

I'm sad that there is not another book in the works for the Beaumont family. I came to your sight today looking to see if a 4th one was on its way. I feel like I need to know the rest of their story.

Sally, WOW! You are at the top of my favorite author's list. Contemporary, Christian, and Wonderful! I started A Journey by Chance just after Christmas 2009, have completed that series and the Beach House series and started In a Heartbeat yesterday. Spent my 'growing up years' in Normal, so feel a kinship with you. Your books have multiple reserves on the at our local library. Please keep them coming. God Bless you and keep you!

CAROL D - Thank you too for your note! Wow, at the top. =) As long as I don't get a big head that does encourage me to do my best. Interesting about Normal...I went to ISU. Originally from Moline. I love the Midwest but also the west coast which explains the Beach House series. :) Blessings.

NEWS!! The new book is coming.... RANSOMED DREAMS will be out in July which is really not that far away. It's time to anticipate. Thanks to my husband, we have the cover up and some notes here on the site for you to check out.
Also I'm working on a FACEBOOK page for readers. If you're there, look for Sally John Books ... but maybe not until mid-March...right now there are 3 pages under that name so I'm not sure what will work. I should stick to fiction. LOL.
